Who Are You?/ What type of service do you offer? --

ATLAS VISUALS is a company that specializes in European cult cinema.  That covers giallos, spaghetti westerns, euro crime, spy (spionaggio), classics, sword-and-sandals, jungle films, swashbucklers, and more!!  We're the #1 supplier of Italian films in the U.S., and have been actively involved in the movie collecting/trading business since 1994.  Over the years we've seen lots of collectors come and go, and often wonder what happened to some of our old friends and acquaintances.  The rare movie business is a field where there is lots of nostalgia and fond memories.  This probably explains why we are still around.

In 2005, water damage destroyed a significant portion of our collection, hundreds of videos were lost, and on certain genres we had to start from scratch.  Thanks to the help of some fellow collectors, were were able to reconstruct most of our inventory.  In 2006, we finished archiving all of our titles to DVD.  That means we're 100% DVD-oriented.  No more VHS!!  Whenever you order from us, you get a straight copy of our master disc.  This ensures that you get the absolute best quality.  It also eliminates the old-fashioned process of manually recording each title, which takes too much time, and leaves you in the lurch for weeks before you get the movies you paid for.   Here at AV, orders are processed as soon as we get them.

ATLAS VISUALS brings you thousands of rare titles which aren't available anywhere else!  We specialize in Italian cult cinema, but we also carry a wide array of international titles.  We compass the whole globe of cinema rarities.  That's why they call us "Atlas Visuals."

What "Region Format" are your discs?--

The discs offered are in Region 1 or Region 2 mode, depending on which titles you order.  Since we import large numbers of titles from Europe, many of these discs are only available in Region 2.  This shouldn't pose a problem, however, as region-free DVD players are relatively inexpensive (a good unit can usually be purchased for under $100).  But if you can't get one, discs are always playable on the DVD-ROM drive of your computer.

What are your prices?--

Current pricing is (effective February 2010):

$11 each (5-12 titles)

$10 each (13-29 titles)

How do I order? --

Please visit our BOX OFFICE for more information!

What happens after I place my order?--

You'll get an email from us, confirming that we got your order.  This will be sent to you within 24 hours.  Then, we start processing your order!  Note: as of February 2010, we are now only making shipments once a week.  This means that turn-around time on orders is usually 7-10 days.  Since the Post Office has been steadily (or should we say, stealthily?) hiking up their costs for the past few years, we've gotten in the habit of shipping in batches, rather than making frequent trips to the post office each week.  Orders of up to 10 discs are sent regular mail, and shipped in white packaging.  Orders of more than 10 discs are shipped via priority mail.  Non-U.S. orders are always sent airmail or global priority (depending on the number of discs you buy).  All postage costs are included with your order.  Yes, shipping is still on us!

Do titles include color packaging?--

Sorry, we don't offer color packaging with any of our titles.  That generally translates as "no covers." We understand that some folks are willing to pay $5 extra for a printed scan of somebody's video box cover?  However, this is not a service we offer.

How good is your quality?--

Quality varies.  Since nearly all our films are processed from rare video masters, some of which are well over 20 years old, what you will commonly receive are films in VHS quality.  However, since a great many of our titles come straight from VHS pre-records, quality may be comparable in some cases to a factory-pressed DVD.  If a film is in "unwatchable" quality, we simply don't list it.  Also, since we realize that quality is a major concern for collectors, we've gotten in the habit of giving quality ratings for each of our titles.  The system goes as follows:

(A/A-)= excellent/very good. (A-/B)= very good/good.  (B/B-)= good/average.  (B-/C)= average/fair.  (C/C-)= fair quality.

This rating system is our own.  We've been in the collecting market for several years, so we've done our best in giving accurate ratings.  If you disagree, please feel free to let us know.  We want you to be happy with the product you receive.  At the same time, though, we want you to be aware of what you're receiving before you order.

What if I get a defective disc?--

"Bad discs" should not occur, since you get exact duplicates of our masters.  Customers will also be happy to know, that we record all of our titles on Philips brand DVD's, which are free from defect.   In rare cases, however, one could receive a defective disc.  Please contact us if there are any problems.

How can I contact you? --

If you have a question that hasn't already been answered, feel free to drop us a line.  You can email us, and we'll get back to you as ASAP.  To ensure a response, please address all correspondence to "Box Office Manager."   Since we get a great deal of junk mail, our email system filters out messages that appear to be spam-oriented.  Typing "box office manager" in the subject line of your email will enable us to immediately spot your message, so we can respond to it right away.  If there's anything you need, please let us know.  Thanks for your interest!!
