Thompson, an American gunman traveling in Mexico, finds himself up against an outlaw gang, which uses the local saloon as home base for their racketeering operation. TRAMPLERS, THE (1966) Excellent spaghetti western, which was quite a cash in for U.S. and Italian markets, but has since been virtually forgotten. Joseph Cotten plays a sadistic rancher who lynches a Yankee newspaperman for attempting to liberate slaves after the Civil War. He also has his sons rough up those who don't agree with his policies. Eventually, one of his sons (Gordon Scott) befriends the daughter of the lynched man, and a family war breaks out. Also stars James Mitchum, Ilaria Occhini, and Franco Nero. Don Pedro, captain of the guards, and the alcalde Don Jaimez, desiring to unite two of the greatest provinces in Mexico, attempt to destroy the nobles who oppose their plan.
